Ajisen Ramen

The local tea.

It was my first time to try ramen. I was afraid I might not like it so i just chose to stick to what i usually eat in Japanese restaurants which is the beef steak. As you can see, it's really flavorful. It was a very good choice. I let Rommel order the ramen so I could just taste it. After I did, i felt like choosing the beef steak was a mistake. HAHA i rhymed there. I loved the soup that I asked for another bowl so I could get more from Rommel's. He reprimanded me for not taking his advice in choosing the ramen.

Hiyashi ramen. Ham, egg, cucumber and crabstick in ajisen noodle sauce.

Ramen is a noodle soup that was originally imported to Japan from China. It contains noodles about as thin as spaghetti and are served in a soup that varies based on region.

Bio-organic Tattoo

6 hours of delight.

One thing I realized yesterday after the tattoo session--i would rather support rising artists like Ricson. He did a wonderful job with Rommel's tattoo which was half finished by another artist. He was very keen to details and he makes it a point that the colors are glowing. Colors are of course a very critical factor in a tattoo. Most of the designs we follow (like the oriental ones) are basically designed to white skinned people. Their skin are like clean canvass. So for us Filipinos, there really should be an effort to burst the colors otherwise the tattoo is futile. It will only look faded.
I think the first one got lazy because he was already fully paid. So, lesson learned for us. If the tattoo will take more than one session, just pay in half. It's very difficult to trust people these days.

Anyway, bio-organic tattoo essentially is an abstract--a fusion of biological or anatomical features with plant-like elements. It took them six hours to finish 75% of the artwork.

uuhhhh... blood! chos.

On running

This one is mine.

As an effort to stay fit and healthy, Project 2013 includes activities for the heart. I already enrolled in Mixed Martial Arts last December and this year I promise myself to join Fun Runs. For the past couple of weeks, I've been jogging around CCP Complex at 4am during Sundays depending on the weather.

It's extra effort because it's really cold and it's difficult to get up in the morning. It's advisable to have company so you have someone to push you to your limits. Especially for someone like me who's very lazy plus the fact that I easily get tired.

Disclaimer: I've been organizing my files in my laptop and found some school stuff i'd like to share to the world. Some of them have been posted already in my previous blog. I just think it's timely and fitting for the season. lols.

Renunciation-is a piercing Virtue-
The letting go

A Presence-for an Expectation-

Not now-
The putting out of Eyes-
Just Sunrise-
Lest Day-
Day's Great Progenitor-
Outvie
Renunciation-is the Choosing
Against itself-
Itself to justify
Unto itself-
When larger function-
Make that appear-
Smaller-that Covered Vision-Here-

A Piercing Virtue Indeed

Poem 745, “Renunciation—is a piercing virtue—“, tries to tell us how pain plays a necessary role in one’s life. The pain of loss or of lacking enhances our appreciation of victory or success. Moreover, the pain of separation indicates the degree of our desire for union with another being or thing.

First, the persona in the poem could be someone who wanted to let go or renounces something she already have for a need of something or someone. But most probably the persona is a female since Dickinson’s secluded life could only give her a female point of view which is also apparent in her other poems And the addressee is not any particular person that could be named.

In the first line of the poem, Dickinson has already established the main thought of her poem. She has posed the gist or the general picture which will be put into detail on the lines after it.
